What to do in Ischia:

More Than Just a Holiday Destination
There are destinations you visit once, and then there are places that quietly become part of your life. Ischia is one of those places. There are destinations you visit once, and then there are places that quietly become part of your life. Ischia is one of those places.

Most people arrive looking for beautiful beaches, thermal spas or simply a relaxing holiday. What they take home, however, is something completely different: the kindness of the people, the slower pace of life, the scent of the sea at sunset, a conversation with a local, a glass of Biancolella shared with friends and the feeling that there is still somewhere in Italy where authenticity matters more than appearance.
Ischia is not an island to rush through. It is a place to experience slowly.
This guide wasn't written to help you see everything. It was written to help you experience Ischia in a way that makes you feel part of the island, even if only for a few days. Take your time, wander through its narrow streets, stop to watch a sunset without looking at your phone and talk to the people who call this island home.
Because the true beauty of Ischia isn't found in a checklist of attractions. It's found in the memories you'll still be carrying long after you've returned home.
Welcome to Ischia. We hope that by the time your journey comes to an end, you'll already be thinking about your next visit.
More Than Just a Holiday Destination

People often ask us whether Ischia is better than Capri or the Amalfi Coast. Our answer has always been the same: it doesn't have to be.
Every destination has its own personality. Capri is known for its elegance and glamour, while the Amalfi Coast is celebrated for its dramatic scenery. Ischia offers something different—something quieter, more genuine and deeply connected to everyday life.
It isn't a perfect island, and honestly, we wouldn't want it to be. During the summer, traffic can be busy, some areas become crowded and not everything always goes according to plan. Yet perhaps that's exactly what makes Ischia so special. Life here still follows its own rhythm.
Families have owned restaurants, vineyards and small businesses for generations. Traditions haven't survived because they were preserved for visitors; they've survived because they have always remained part of daily life.
Long before tourism became the island's main industry, Ischia was shaped by farming and winemaking. Its volcanic hills were covered with vineyards, and wines such as Biancolella are still among the strongest symbols of the island's identity. Natural thermal springs continue to flow from the volcanic earth throughout the year, while its beaches still offer a sense of tranquillity that has become increasingly rare across the Mediterranean.
Perhaps the greatest luxury you will find here isn't a five-star hotel. It's the feeling of discovering a place that still belongs to the people who live there—a place where hospitality comes naturally, conversations are genuine, dinners last for hours and sunsets become part of everyday life.
We don't hope you'll see everything during your first visit. We simply hope you'll leave wanting to come back.

Slow Down. You're on Ischia.
Before we tell you where to go, we'd like to offer one simple piece of advice: slow down.
Many visitors arrive with long lists of beaches, villages, restaurants and viewpoints they want to see in just a few days. We understand why. Ischia has so much to offer that it's easy to feel as though you're missing something if you don't see it all.
But the real beauty of this island isn't measured by how many places you visit. It's measured by how deeply you experience them.
Spend an entire afternoon on the same beach. Stay until the sun disappears below the horizon. Order another glass of local wine. Take a walk without checking your phone. Sit in a village square and simply watch everyday life unfold. Talk to people, listen to their stories and enjoy your meal without rushing to the next destination.
The memories you'll treasure most won't come from ticking places off a list. They'll come from moments you never planned: a conversation with a local, an unforgettable sunset, a recommendation you weren't expecting or a dinner that lasts much longer than you imagined.
Don't collect places.
Collect moments.
If you leave Ischia feeling relaxed, inspired and already thinking about your next visit, then you've experienced the island exactly as we hoped you would.
